Riverdale Hall Hotel lies on the banks of the beautiful North Tyne River on the outskirts of the small charming market town of Bellingham. Although we are very easy to reach by rail and road, Northumberland is a low-populated rural county in the North East, on the England-Scotland border, containing one of the most picturesque and untouched stretches of coastline with 30-miles of unspoiled beaches.
With more castles than any other county and heritage sites such as Hadrian's Wall plus stunning walks across rolling hills and low mountains or tranquil fishing on one of the best salmon and trout rivers in the UK, it feels a world away from city life given its ruggedness, remoteness, culture and landscape. THE HOTEL
Riverdale Hall is often considered more of a retreat for relaxing and unwinding or for more energetic activities if so inclined, with so much to do on site and close by. Built in 1886 as a Victorian Mansion, we have retained all of the original charm and character whilst converting it into a luxury, modern country house hotel with 28 individually decorated bedrooms, indoor heated pool and sauna. Just outside, you can enjoy a game of cricket, golf or superb salmon, sea trout and still water fishing too.

SELF CATERING
For those who want the facilities of the hotel but prefer their own space, we also have some of Northumberland’s finest self-catering accommodation, set within the grounds of the Riverdale Hall Hotel.
This is your ideal holiday escape. Stay in one of four luxury built stone apartments just 30 yards to the south of the main hall.
The two first-floor apartments, Blakey and Graham, have balconies and the ground-floor apartments, Abrahams and Milburn, patio areas, all overlooking the cricket field, the North Tyne River and bridge and Dunterley Fell (Pennine Way).

We are very proud of our stylish restaurant, which has received numerous awards including Les Routiers Gold Plate (only hotel in Northumbria to receive this accolade).
Head Chef Iben Cocker celebrate 30 years at the Riverdale Hall hotel and along with other head chefs Stuart and Tony, creating mouth-watering dishes with an enviable reputation.

There is nothing like a lovely setting to help make your conference or corporate away event a roaring success, together with “Gold Plate” food from our award winning restaurant, access to the swimming pool and sauna and a choice of rooms to suit your delegates needs.
There are extensive private car parking facilities adjacent to the function rooms and the design of the hotel permits conference parties to enjoy a high degree of privacy including the option of private dining.
